Biographical information
Chi-Ser Tran is a staff attorney at CLS, where she works in the SSI Unit and leads the Language Access Project. Her practice focuses on representing adults and children with disabilities – particularly those with limited English proficiency or a history of trauma – to access and maintain Supplemental Security Income benefits. She also focuses on language rights advocacy and improving access to legal services for clients with limited English proficiency. She was previously an Initiative for Public Interest Law at Yale Fellow in CLS’s Employment Unit. She graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she was a Rubin-Presser Social Justice Fellow. Prior to law school, Ms. Tran was a Voting Rights Organizer at the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund.
Ms. Tran is the 2022 President of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania. In 2022, she was honored with a Philadelphia City Council resolution as an “Emerging Leader” on the occasion of Asian American and Pacific Islander History Month and recognized as part of City & State PA’s Law Power 100 list.
